On April 28th marriage equality advocates made their case before the Supreme Court for all American’s freedom to marry. This was also a culmination of events for The Tie Bar and our bow tie collection with Modern Family actor, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, husband Justin Mikita, and their non-profit organization, Tie The Knot. There was no better way to support the cause and celebrate the launch of our New York pop-up than by bringing Jesse and Justin (in New York for the summer) and some of our favorite fashion bloggers together at one of our favorite restaurants.
With the table set and the wine flowing, all enjoyed Café Gitane favorites like Moroccan couscous, salmon pot pie, and a variety of mouthwatering desserts. All were treated to a preview of the new Tie The Knot collection and hearing Jesse speak about what lay ahead for the organization and cause. Everybody also received a brand new bow tie they could proudly display on social media with the hashtag #TieTheKnot4Equality in support.
The 15-piece collection previewed that night is now available for purchase exclusively on our website, in our New York pop-up, and Chicago store. The custom designs come in a variety of tropical hues, vibrant checks, florals, and nautical stripes for the summer season. With the Supreme Court ruling to follow later this June it’s the perfect chance to support our ongoing partnership with Tie The Knot.
